Abraham Lincoln
Abe was the 16th president of the U.S during the time of the civil war. Lincoln was the first republican elected for president. Lincoln also led the union army to a great victory. Abraham Lincoln also ended the habbit and poisinig of slavery in the United states. also in the years of the civil war, lincoln led the north to a victory over the south. Lincolnalso wrote the Emacipation Proclimation that strongly spoke out against slavery.

Jefferson Davis
Davis was the first and only president of the confederate states of america. Davis also served as a congressman and a mississipi senator. Following the defeat torward the south, davis was stripped of his citizenship.Returning to the U.S davis died in 1889. Davis was a political leader who never knew how to beat a equiped north army. " All we ask is to be let alone."- davis
Ulysses S. Grant
He was considered a great civil war leader during his time. He was clutch and won very important battles when they were needed. At the battle of Vicksburg, Mississippi his plan cut the confederate army into two, separating them from each other. He soon then gained control over Chattanooga, Tennessee. His plan was to pin down the general of the confederate army(Robert E. Lee). After he successfully captured him, he would control the confederate army.

Robert E. Lee
Lee was known as a very talented and successful leader during this time. Lee fought in the mexican/american war which showed his leadership skills and experience. He was extremely against succession even though he declined lincolns offer to command the union army. Instead lee commanded the confederate army of north virginia. He commanded the confederate army up until his surrender to general grant in 1865.
